Fence and entrances
Fence sensors detect mechanical disturbance. Access control identifies authorised movement. Both require clearly defined zones and operational rules.
Video, radar and LiDAR
Video provides visual context; other sensors add position or movement. Suitability depends on visibility, range, surroundings and interfaces.
VMS, PSIM and control room
Alerts are associated with a location, time window and response plan. The control-room workflow must support decisions, not simply produce more alerts.

What should be measured at acceptance
- Define test zones and protection objectives; document positive and negative tests.
- Record detected and missed test events for each zone.
- Evaluate false alarms per zone and operating time, for example per 24 operating hours.
- Measure time from detection through verification to the agreed response.
- Test power, network and sensor failures; document fallback and recovery.
Acceptance thresholds are agreed before testing. Low false-alarm counts are not a success if real events are also missed.
